It's an active urban residential area between the bustle and skyscrapers of downtown and the gorgeous neighborhood streets of 100-year-old million-dollar homes up the hill.

- Volunteer Park: Beauty. Historic 45-acre tree-filled park. Walk up the water tower for views in all directions and a mural-based history of Seattle. Visit the Plant Conservatory and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. 8 blocks north of the Inn, a 10 minute walk.
- 15th Avenue: Friendly. Quaint street of shops and a dozen restaurants. Gathering places for the residents of the beautiful old homes on the gorgeous nearby streets. 6 blocks northeast of the Inn.
- Pike/Pine Corridor: Vibrant. Commercial/warehouse district transforming to loft and live/work spaces. Live music, yoga & dance studios, art and performance spaces, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, billiards/bowling. 4 blocks south of the Inn.
- Broadway: Eclectic. Ethnic restaurants, dining alfresco, coffeehouses, grocery stores, pharmacy, banks, college, bookstores, newsstands. 2 blocks east of the Inn.
- Not so far away: Seattle University, Cornish Art College, Frye Art Museum, REI flagship store, Bruce Lee’s grave, Nirvana’s practice space, Century Ballroom, Aveda Institute, Capitol Hill Arts Center, Jimi Hendrix statue in front of Muzak offices!
